Leading the Discussion

What research to include and how to include it in a way that still allows the paper to flow.

Is the research credible?

As Mat says “peer reviewed//academic journals” may have their flaws, double check to make sure that the information is credible

  • Podcast - Fear and Loathing in Homer and Rockville

  • Biased research – looking up info to support what he already believed

  • Some of the crazy reports made were actually true – 1,000 women in Germany being assaulted around the time of New Years

  • Proper statistics were used in the wrong context – over 400,000 crimes committed by migrants in 2015 included the crime of crossing the boarded which only migrants can do; when that crime is subtracted the crimes rates were constant with the previous year

Make is flow

  • Consider the Lobster

  • Sounded like a narrative

  • Also included an abundance of research
